At least here, summer is pleasant, usually 20-30 most days, much less cloud

We haven't really had a winter here in Perth. 1/3rd our average rainfall. Lots of clear blue spring-like days and clear nights. Personally I'd prefer winter back for a while longer, as much as I like clear nights I also like rain and winter

In Melbourne, spring is just a nice name for winter. I hate it more than I can possibly express in words. But I hate all seasons in Melbourne because they all suck. Not enough heat, too much cloud and rain. Summer sucks here, it is very short and cold compared to many places, even the NE USA, and southern Europe... and this epic fail gives way to the endless days of winter and spring cloaked in slate-grey overcast with continual drizzle and rain. Some of the most fug weather Melbourne can churn up occurs in spring. My local park has been waterlogged literally for 2-3 months now It must be this global warming phenomenon causing all this cold, cloud and endless rain. Our weather was never this crap until "global warming" came along I'm happiest when its 45C during the day and 30C at night. Pure awesomeness. Nothing like sucking on ice coffee at the icepiece. Or while laying on the tiles watching Family Guy.
Here, only Autumn and summer are doable for astronomy, and autumn is practically ruined by those stupid burnoffs anyway. Bloody Venus would be a better location for astronomy.

but then again, winter doesn't exist in Perfffff to begin with. You're lowest daytime highs are warmer than our warmest daytime highs.

I've got tomorrow off, so looking forward to a long night of viewing. Its clear in Melbourne at present, but satellite shows cloud coming in around mid night.
Here's hoping

Setup my gear for the first time since may 15, satellite pic shows cloud decending from the nw, just doing a few 12 min subs to make sure the gear still works, some small thin cloud visible towards melb city, but seem to be breaking up a bit.
Don't smile too long it won't last.

Well in that case, the early morning rise tomorrow has saved me from losing 10 years off my lifespan. Blessing in disguise.

Oh the irony of all this global warming crap that is the religion these days Funny how all warming hystericals have shut their traps. But then again, that might account for all the lack of hot air these days.

Got all my planning done, had a look at 7.30 - 50% cloud cover, but Venus, Mars and Saturn clear, give 30 mins more then checked, drats more clouds, checked again 8.30 no change, by 9pm total coverage - I gave up. Watched Matt Hall get third in Red Bull Air Race instead.
Ah that's Melbourne.

ended up staying home today with the flu (the flagship disease of Melbourne), so could've gone out last night... it was pretty clear until midnight when cirrus started moving through.
