Startrails over Tammin

G'day all,

A nice startrails shot from Saturday night out at Tammin. More astro pics to come from the night in coming days (hopefully)

Not bad at all roger,

looks like there was a little cloud or something along the horizon, hopefully it didn't impact the night!

How was it out there

Hey Brendan,

Yeap – was a good night actually (if I sound surprised it’s because I was hesitant to bother moving my gear from my observatory to go out there). Crystal clear skies. Cold but not freezing, no dew, and my equipment behaved for the most part The stability & clarity wasn’t the best, certainly not a 10/10 for overall clarity of views.

I’ve ended up with quite a swag of photo’s to process from it.

I was surprised to see the smoke in the startrail pic – wasn’t evident on the night, I think it was most likely from some distant fires towards Cunderdin. Definitely not a cloud for as far as we could see in the afternoon, night, or morning.

Roger.

lovely to hear that it was nice out on sat night! I too was hit with the dreded old smoke haze... very annoying. and our skies where intermittent with the seeing though Skippy sky said that it was going to be roaring up there (150km/h +).

Look forward to your other shots.!

Nice work Roger. The background looks like it could have the black point raised a bit (maybe a bit too much yellow and red) but a great scene showing the bustle of a star party.
