Meteor shower now.

Anybody been out trying to spot some Eta Aquarids?? I have been out for 45 minutes and havent seen ANY meteors at all!! There is a bit of a Moon, but still not too bad in certain directions.
Inside for a drink, stretch the legs, and will head out again for awhile.
There is probably a flurry of meteors tumbling as I am at computor, so better head out again. Thinking positive.

Well, wasnt too bad at all. Was out for 2 hours, but only saw meteors beteen 4 and 5am. Counted about 12, 10 of which were EQs, and a couple of beauties. Took a few pics, so fingers crossed, though Moon was positioned pretty near to the radiant.
Still good fun, now to bed for a few more zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Happy Birthday Peter.
Yes, shame about the Moon, but still OK. I was watching the NW area, mainly around Lyra and Cygnus, and luckily a few were whizzing through.
Yes, also a few satellites and 2 planes, 10 bats, and 57 mozzies.

PS ... couple of pics in Images section.

Misty at your place this morning Ron? Nice and clear and fairly dry here. I was out between 4 and 4:30 and saw a few whizzing through. Shame about the moon being so close and large.

Paul, Weather Station showed no wind all night, so no wind = Mist when there is lots of moisture about
