Dewcap vs Zapper vs Dewcap + Zapper

In your opinions, what would you recommend as the best broad method for keeping dew away from your optical equipment?

Please give any reasons for your decision.

A dew shield is all I've ever used, so that's my vote

Cheers
Steffen.

Home built 4 independent channel PWM controller. But in general I use thin film dew straps like the kendrick ones.

They fit nicely against OTA (refractors) and spread out the application of the heat energy. For my C8 I use a dew shield and a home made resistor heater that sits inside the tube against the corrector housing.

I'm looking at making this PWM cct into a 6 independent channels. Need more dew prevention.....yes sir!

Jaycar nichrome wire + black electrical tape. Works a treat on absolutely everything but not on wet/dewy fingers in the dark maybe...

Thanks guys for the responses.

I currently have a shield and zapper in one but the zapper constantly required re-taping and attaching it snugly is an issue. Am thinking I might invest in a strap and leave the shield off and try it out.

I still have to build up my PWM controller for it anyway
