Partial lunar eclipse Saturday June 26 9:30 pm

The latest issue of Australian Sky and Telescope has an article about the upcoming partial lunar eclipse in June. This is a relatively deep partial eclipse with about half of the Moon plunged into the Earth's umbral shadow, unfortunately it will not be sufficient (apparently) to turn the Moon the familiar brick red colour, but it will severely darken half of its surface. This is the last lunar eclipse to occur at a civilised time for a number of years, both totals next year occur in the wee hours. There is one on 21 December, but it is largely over by the time the Moon rises. Other Lunar eclipses for the next few years are:

Partial:
29 November 2011, 2:30am
4 June 2012, 9pm

Total:
16 June, 2011, 6am
11 December, 2011, 2:35am
4 April 2015, 10pm...the next civilised total
