my beautiful wife

Family get-together for Easter today and decided to test out the 85mm f/1.8 lens. I haven't given a run yet, since I was waiting to get the 40D back from calibration. Fair to say I like the lens, and love my wife.

That's a beautiful shot of a beautiful lady mate. Look at the blazing blue eyes! Nothing like the love of a good woman mate. Good stuff!

Baz.

Thanks guys. She's very shy in front of the camera, despite being very photogenic - fantastic smile and eyes.

What is such a lovely lady doing with a guy like you? :tonguepoke:

Excellent portrait -- it's all in the eyes.

re portrait pic

Great work Troy

The new lens and body re-calibration look like the are producing

great results,We can really see the shallow depth of focus here, her eyes

and mouth in focus, while other features less in focus, must be an amazing

lens,well done.

And re model-lovely blue eyes, very nice!

cheers Chris

Thanks Chris. I probably over-did the shallow depth of field to be honest, but was just mucking around playing with settings. The golden rule to all people/wildlife/bird/insect/etc photography is to focus on those eyes.

Great shot Troy! Now you're showing off... I just want you to tell her: "Honey, I just upgraded my scope to a 24" Ritchey Chretien", then post the next close up shot. ... if she lets you.
