No Damage to ESO Observatories in Chile

Just in case anyone was wondering there was no damage to ESO scopes in Chile

Good news indeed.

I see there was another aftershock earlier this evening at mag 6.1.

That is good news. I wonder if the polar alognment of those scopes will have to be adjusted slightly. That's if they are EQ mounted.

I think the AAO at Siding Springs was one of the last major telescopes in the world to be EQ mounted - they are now all Alt-Az. They might need some re-levelling of their baseplate (or a bit of reprogramming of their GOTO and field de-rotater)

Good ... I did wonder if they were OK, there are a few big scopes down that way including the SLOOH scope, hope its OK too.
