trees on Mars

I reckon they are poplar trees - with their leaves off, so it must be winter.
The first time my wife looked through my telescope she exclaimed "Ohh, thats pretty, but I can't see any trees!"

Hi Jimmy,
I remember you telling me that "Ohh, thats pretty, but I can't see any trees!" Long time no see. I've been busy with the new pool and all else I have going here.

Have to catch up some time.

Cheers Marty

That's amazing. Beautiful shot. Ok, they're not trees obviously but even after reading the article I still don't make sense of this pic. What's up/down, what's elevated? You can see some of the dunes but those brown streaks are very confusing. Are they supposed to be cliffs?

Yes, thats amazing .... apart from the pink landscape, you can well imagine trees, and windy road of farmland.
Yes, those cliffs must be steep for the gullies to look like trees!!
