Another AR 1040 image, 14 January 2010

Hi all

I love the attention the Sun has been receiving so early in the New Year!

AR 1040 (1035) has given lots of people lots to look at and image. The region seems to have it all!

Here is my latest version

http://www.pbase.com/mattwastell/image/121077519

Solarmax 40, 2.5 Powermate, DMK31, stacked and processes in Registax.

Exp 1/77, Gamma 42, Gain 260. 279/1993 frames at 93%. Inverted image too.

Nice work Matt – hope that you’re coping with the heat stress! I must look into the structure and appearance of the Sun at different wavelengths, as the images posted by you and Paul show fascinating details.

Cheers

Dennis

Lovely shot Matt.
Also puts the region in perspective compared to the size of the sun.

Good work.

Thanks all.
Dennis, "I" have worked out how to avoid the Sun - I sit under the front verandah in the shade - I only have to venture out occasionally - my wife, Katie, pointed out the possibility last time I imaged and became a sweat ball!
