ugh I hate it when the trains are late!

Finally made it past Milson's Pt.

Train problems this arvo at Milsons Pt, and I'm at Nth Sydney now about 1hr 20 minutes later than I'd normally be here.

Thank goodness for the new MacBook Pro and it's long battery life - on my old Dell, i'd be almost flat already and I've still got about an hour and twenty minutes before I'll be home.

Off to Melbourne for a couple of days tomorrow - the 6am flight! I'll barely be home before I have to turn around and drive back to the airport!

At least you have trains. The Beecroft -> Castle Hill -> Rouse Hill line looks like it won't be built in my children's lifetime, let alone mine.

On the rare occasion I drive I saw the trains stuck as well as one of the North bound lanes blocked...heard it had something to do with the heat affecting the overhead cables, sheesh

Two things you can always count on being late...public transport and tax returns

Mike - move up to Brisbane. You might curse Sydney's public transport now, but you'll love it once you see the crap that Brisbane has. Translink doesn't know the meaning of timelineness. Or being responsible to the public.

It would be sweet if I worked from home - however I do have to travel - so 5 minutes is great!

Cheers Petra d.

75 km drive. 45-50 min at good times (eg. 6am). Has been over two hours when the Ring Road and Freeway were wet and stuffed with accidents.

Work from home now. I don't miss the commuting that's for sure. Especially in summer in the non air conditionned carriages they used to have still in service in the 90s before the tangara. Liverpool -> Bondi Junction everyday. .

I was stuck at Parramatta train station yesterday for a good half hour before they even let us know over the PA that the trains are delayed which by then we all knew lol.
Then an hour later they let us know that the trains to my station wouldnt be running, and we would have to get a bus... and by this stage there was so much over crowding at the station that the buses were going to be jam packed.
I decided to ring a mate to pick me up and got home 1.5 hours later than normal !!!

I'm with Dave.

You wanna see truly bad public transport in a cap city....move to Brisbane.

I've lived in Sydney, Melbourne and Bris....and believe me, Brisvegas wins - hands down.

The only thing worse than public transport in Brisbane, is the roads. Sheesh!!!!! Wait until the population here increases at the rate predicted. Remember that episode of Dr Who titled 'The Motorway'?
