FOR SALE : 6 Inch Refractor

Hi guys,

update now priced at $375

I bought this telescope in 1996 from an older gentleman,
He told me that he bought the 6inch f/5 objective from A.Jaegers in the USA,
And from the research i have done it does appear this is the case.

The objective itself is in good condition it could do with a bit of a clean but otherwise great condition.
The objective was mounted in a steel tube as can be seen in the photos tube is in good condition.

I do have a home made alt-az mount but this is not of great quality hence why i am selling this as a Optical tube assembly.

Comes with two eyepieces 1 7.5mm plossel and 1 modified Achromatic 40 mm eye piece.

Due to it's fast F ratio and being an Achromat it does exhibit false color in the form of Chromatic Abberation but would be within the standard amounts of an instrument of this type.

Great scope as a rich field refractor weighting in at 7 kilos and quite short OTA length this would be great as a rich field refractor or lense for astrotography.

Could also make a great project if the buyer was so inclined to remount the objective.

I will also thrown in a 60mm meade refractor as a side mount instrument if it goes for the buy it now price.

Feel free to ask any questions or for more photos make an appointment to come take a look etc.
I will add more photo's later 2day.

Thanks

Daniel

Hi Roger

I would like to claim first dibs on this. I have been in touch with Daniel and just need to agree a suitable time to meet. We had an arrangement that fell through and just need to agree another time.

Actually Mick and John had prior dibs but I am assuming they passed as Daniel has not mentioned otherwise to me.

Kind regards
Andy

You can safely count me out. I purchased another scope before the owner of this one responded.
