What bird is this ?

This bird arrived today in our backyard tried looking it up in the Field Guide of the Birds of Australia but not listed, would appreciate if someone can advise, maybe it's someone's pet.

That doesn't look like any native bird I'm familiar with.

He is not a native, as others have stated. Either he was a pet, or he flew one hellava long journey.
I think, he is a native to areas such as Fiji. I am probably wrong though, the species i'm thinking of, I think had a slightly larger beak.

It looks very similar to a Blue Quaker, but the beak and eye surrounds are the wrong colours.

I may have an answer for you.
IMHO I believe he is a blue Indian ring neck parrot. A common domesticated species.
Google him for more info.
If he is still around, try feeding him, he may be hungry if he hasn't been in the wild for long.

Actually after re-assesing, I believe the beak to be too light in colour for a ring neck... Maybe the light.

This has me puzzled...

It sure looks like the blue Indian ring neck parrot, I'm no expert, the photo I took was late afternoon so lighting wasn't the best, thanks for posting.
