In the column on the left is the current moon. If you click the "Moon Phase" you will find:

New Moon: Sunday, 18 October (16:32)

One post would have been enough.

Ummmm, I'm confused....

Something is not right there.....
I am thinking it might be my error but did the moon not set directly after the sun today at 5:30pm or 17:30 if you will and rise at 6:30 just after the sun...
If the moon phase calender is correct then it should be at 5% somewhere in the sky now, rise a 4:10pm. I dont think it is. Not that I would expect to find it at 0.5%, maybe it is up there somewhere... I think it is unlikely the phase calender is wrong though.

I think my dates have stuffed up in comp though...

Edit~ No, Jups where it should be outside.... I think I am right.

The moon phase on the left is correct - the moon is 0.6% now. Basically still new moon but just past it.

The next new moon is 18th October, which is what you see when you go to the Moon Phase page.

.... Ok now i'm just even more confused.... So there is a New Moon at 0.6% up in the sky at the moment?
Setting at 3:45am.... ok I'm going crazy and my clocks must be off, celestron the sky has jupiter up and the moon already set...

I'm heading outside to find this moon.

Edit~ I know there is back burning in Sydney, but this is ridiculous, still no moon.

No - it doesn't mean the moon is up. It set at 18:24 today.

0.6% is the phase.

Where are you seeing 3:45am?

Do you have your timezone set correctly in your profile?

Must be my profile....

Left hand side of page.... Current Moon, new moon 0.6%, Moonrise: 16:10, Moonset: 03:45

LoL!! I thought it had set already!!
Edit~ that's better, helps if you input your location

So to answer the original question, perhaps a confirmation of the "New moon" may not have been visible, as it set just after the Sun...
