M20 and M8 Widefield

Here is my M8 and M20 effort.
Taken with a Canon 350D using an Orion DSF at prime focus attached to a Saxon ED80
piggybacked on a polar mounted 10" LX200GPS.
Autoguided with a Meade Deep Sky Imager through the LX200GPS.

The composition is a stack of 6 x 5m at 800iso and 12 x 4 minutes at
1600iso.

Stacked using Deep Sky Stacker and processed using Photoshop CS3.

Good shot Paul. Shame that you did not quite fit the entire Lagoon Neb in - but hey - its big! Is your Canon modded?

Very Nice, Shame you didn't move it up a touch and fit more of Lagoon into the frame but well captured and processed.

Well done. Nice field of view.

Paul you've done a very nice job processing this shot !
Very nice colours, smooth detail and you've controlled the noise very well.

Looking forward to more from you.

Thanks All for your words,
The shot is cropped marginally, only because of the stacking software but it is a full field.

It was a shame I didn't move the scope to fill all of the Lagoon in and I am kicking myself over it but I was after the Triffid originally and the Lagoon was showing up in the bottom right hand corner and trying to take 1 minute 1600iso snaps and moving the scope to frame both objects in was trying with LX200 because of the angle.

I am happy with the outcome. The processing is down to this group, reading posts and trying different techniques.

Dr Paul the camera is unmodded, but very soon it will be, I will be booking it in soon for the operation.

Paul

another good image, you have a clear understanding of not blowing out the highlights.... not something everyone comes to grips with.

You're really getting the hang of the processing now Paul. You can see the improvement with each new image you post. Well done

Thanks Clive, It's a tough and long road to follow and looking at the work on this forum makes you wonder if you will ever get anywhere..but one step at a time.

Thanks Barb and David for your words, never thought anyone was looking over and keeping an eye on me, it appears, in a small way I am making ground in what I am doing.
