Did Caveman really go into Space?
A funny 'Flintstone' video spin on an old classic 'Star Trekkin'.

I loved that song when it was on the radio!
When I was watching the original series on DVD earlier this year I don't ever recall Spock saying "It's life Jim but not as we know it". Does anyone know which episode? Or is it an urban legend? I do recall the other sayings though...

Great find Ken, a classic song. I remember the poor old red shirts, each week one would have to die.
Cheers

Urban mis-quote, changed for the song.
"The Devil in the Dark" 1967 actual quote ..."no life as we know it"

Bones is the one who actually said: "It's life, but not as we know it".
I heard him say it in an episode about 2 weeks ago. (Sci-Fi channel)

That makes more sense that its based on Bones, Spock would say Captain not Jim.
As in Star Trek the movie Spock says "It's life, Captain, but not life as we know it."

I think it was Spock in the clip that says it (Bones says "...he's dead Jim") which is why I thought it was Spock, I always thought it was Bones in the show too.
Anyway...you have had me humming this tune to myself all last night....arghhh!...."Klingons off the starboard bow...starboard...." STOP IT!

I bought the single at the time too Jeanette, though haven't played it today - "what's a record player?" (though I have 3 separate DVD players, a DVD recorder, 2 PC's with DVD writers, various single disk CD players and the Sony Jukeboxy thing 51 disc CD player ... lol)
I HAVE however gone back over the last 24 hours and watched that clip again, and again, about 6 times now - here at work, at home, played it for my girlfriend, etc.
Arrgghhhhh - STILL can't get the tune out of my head!
Thanks SO much for posting that Ken, you're a champ!

At least I've stopped trying to turn the CDs over to "play the other side"
I can still remember wondering how to turn video tapes over! To many audio cassettes!

 annoying isn't it.
But I suppose it could have been a crummy song that was stuck. Then you'd be wishing for something funny and spacey like 'Star Trekkin'

One of the funniest "Zits" cartoons I have read in the paper:- Father comes home and says to the family - "I burnt my first CD today". Son does a double take at this statement by his usually technology-challenged Dad. "Yes", says father, "I left it on the heater".
