Crescent Moon, 24 July 09 (afocal)

Hi all,

Here's a quick hand-held afocal image of the thin crescent last night. Taken with a little Cybershot compact camera, through my 130mm Newtonian. It looked great with the naked eye as well!

Cheers,
Stephen

Cool shot there Stephen.

I also saw the Moon last night and it was up pretty high from here near Gosford.
I didnt image it even though it looked really nice and clear.
I am glad you got a shot of it though.

I like the Moon when its a skinny sliver for some reason.

Geoffro.

Oh, that is very very, slick!! Nice work!! I particularly like your presentation of it. I like how you positioned the frame to accomadate the full moon, even if it isn't visible. Well done. Very professional looking.

Excellent work Steven, I like it very much indeed, you have done well with this one, and it is so crisp in focus.

Thanks very much Mitchell and Leon! This image was very rushed, so it's a bit surprising that it worked.

Cheers,
Stephen
