Hi All,

Here's my contribution to the "Bird strike" images.

Taken at about 1515UT 23-7-2009 from Melbourne.

Well done Stuart,

The first image clearly demonstrates the extent and shape of the Bird strike.

Top stuff, especially from Melbourne.

I still find it amazing that you spotted this. I'm happy just to bandwagon along and takes some pictures.

Hey Trevor, what's wrong with Melbourne (apart from the generally cruddy seeing, cloud cover, light pollution, cold etc.)?

Over the last few years my association with Swinburne Uni has resulted in an occasional trip down to Melbourne and each time my visit has coincided with some pretty crook weather.

I take my hat off to anyone with the determination and perseverance to astro image in that region.

The best views I have had of the night sky during my visits have been in the Virtual Reality theatre at Swinburne's Hawthorn Campus.
