gary, poor timing for old asimov, i hadn't realize you had talked to him and after he said no to you, separately, i pm'd him and told him i was sending him a laptop so he run one of these!
i am sure he will track one down!
I am going to have another look at the soldering for the mod and see if i am up for it??? I might be able to convert one over!

Davo,
yeah between John and myself we muddled around and didn't get the sale. Never mind I think we both managed to laugh about it, which is all you could ask.
If you are keen e mail me. I have the contact details for a supplier of the B&W replacement chip (more sensitive). g.beal@clear.net.nz

Yes...Well....a total stuff up between Gary, Dave & myself & yes it was funny!
I run on luck & gut instinct these days....One person on gecko optical has one forsale that will NOT answer my emails trying to buy the damn thing....now this little 'incident' leads me to believe that someone is trying to tell me something!? IE: 'John, do not get a toucam!!'
Bugger em'.....I'm still after a second-hander anyway!
Doesn't have to be modded.....doesn't have to be the latest & greatest model either. I'll wait a week then I'll get a new one.
Thanks.

Not Tucam but Vesta
I've got a Vesta(?) somewhere in the "box" bought it a couple of years ago and never used. I think it has the driver disks etc. Looks like a pregnant frog with maroon feet!!!
I'll dig through the junk, if you're interested drop me a PM.

i know the vestas are still talked about and they are then next best thing after the toucam i oul imagine and imaging software seems to support them!
I think they can be modded

The lens and the "feet" can be removed, no problem.

Hi Merlin, I've PM'd you.
I must admit I've never even heard of a vesta. Can anyone give me some details on this camera? Anyone got one/used one/got a friend that's using one?
Thanks guys.
