Galactic Arbor

Last night out in the Canberra mountains was ironic, as I now have mountains of images to process, including a timelapse.

Here is a preview of one I worked on quickly while the others are batching.

This is a single frame, 35 seconds at ISO 1600 with a Canon 400D and 18-55mm lens. I took four darks tonight in a dark room just to remove the large amounts of noise. At 35 seconds, i had to stretch it a bit, but I am happy with the result.

I now have a heap to stack as well as finish the timelapse so I will leave you with this...

Cheers,

Baz.

I like the composition, nifty, but the noise is pretty overwhelming, as you would expect with a single exposure, your other post is far better.

Thanks Fred, yeah, not much I could do about that as you said. I tried taking some darks tonight and they helped a bit, but not much.

Looks like you had an encounter with an incontinent Flying-fox.

We get those up here...they worry me...very, very much.
Wish they didn't plant so many Mango trees.

Sorry Barry, I just have fruitbats on the brain and it was the first thing that came to mind.

Should have said, amazed at how little trailing there is from 35 secs on a fixed tripod.
Looking forward to the time-lapse, should come up a treat.
