C/2008 Q3 Garradd

Hi All,

Finally a break in the clouds and a chance to image this one.

The SBig is undergoing maintenance (the dessicant plug needed baking out), so I used the Nikon D300 @ ISO 800, 70 x 30s frames.

Probably not quite bright enough for this yet, but it's promising.

If you think you can see a faint tail, I think it's a processing artifact as I used DSS in comet and stars mode and the tail looks to be in the direction of travel.

Cheers
Stuart

Great to see a comet again!! Thanks Stuart.
Comet Garradd is gracing our southern skies, and is in Centaurus at moment.
Keep forgetting to have a look, but must as is about mag 7-8 ??

Thanks for showing Stuart - I was feeling some comet fever the other day, but held off researching what was about due to full moon
