3rd generation night sights

I read somewhere that if you look through a 3rd generation night sight or scope, at what looks like a dull patch of sky, that you see non stop action of sats and mets and all sorts of things.

From wiki:
Third generation night vision systems maintain the MCP from Gen II, but now use a photocathode made with gallium arsenide, which further improves image resolution. In addition, the MCP is coated with an ion barrier film for increased tube life. The light amplification is also improved to around 30000-50000x.

Now of course they are illegal here, but available in the states for 8-10 grand.

Has anyone ever had the chance to look through one or know of someone who has one o/s?

Are you referring to this site http://nightvisionastronomy.com/ ?

I've not used them or seen them myself but the material I have read on the internet makes them sound interesting...
