I'm off

All,

On Friday morning, I'm off to the south island of New Zealand, to drive around for two weeks in a campervan.

The goal? To capture sunrise, sunset, sand, water, mountains, valleys, waterfalls, flowers, and the red-, orange-, yellow-, green- and blue- of autumn in digital form. I'm taking all my gear, so, I expect to make maybe 1 or 2 photos.

I'll also be going to the Starlight Reserve at Lake Tekapo, to capture some pure photons, maybe just with my eyes.

I might jump out of a plane over Lake Wanaka, too, if I can muster the courage.

Oh, and, I'll be attending the dawn service on ANZAC Day in Christchurch.

Regards,
Humayun

Can't wait to see your pics, H.

I'll be doing the same thing in about 5 weeks, except driving around for 3 weeks.

Doing both Milford and Doubtful Sound...a few days in Queenstown, the Fox Glacier etc...

All the best...and have a great and safe trip.

Have a great time Humayun, look foreward to seeing some of your pics.

But why would you want to jump out of perfectly good plane?

Kahurangi National Park

Hi Humayun,

Have a great trip!

Recommend the detour off the more trodden circuit up to the area around
Karamea on the north-west coast of the South Island. The rainforests
and arches of the Kahurangi National Park offers extraordinary photographic
opportunities for which I recommend you carry the tripod with you in the day
pack.

Best Regards

Gary

Have a great time Humayun.

I have jumped out of plenty of planes, similar to jumping into them. But to do it when they are up in the clouds, hope you pack a parracute and not just your lunch.

If you have the time and experience... try getting up to the back
Temple basin near Auther Pass. From there you have to
climb another 6000ft. But the coast to coast view is amazing!!!
when the clouds roll in you are sitting on a peak all you can see
is a carpet of cloud with other mountain peaks poking through. And
at dusk the lights switching on along the east and west coast.

Oh yeah... there are some beaut shingle slides to run down some
around the 4000ft high. If you have ever done shingle skipping...
you'll do the day full climb just to do it again. You'll need good
boots, no runners or you'll be in bare feet before you reach the
bottom.

Cheers, enjoy your trip.

regards,CS
