NGC 2261 Hubble's Variable Nebula and SPOOKY FACE!

Hello

Just got back from 5 days away...clouds al nights and full oon didn't help but i managed to get 5 subs (of which only 3 were useable) of NGC2261.
It'no piece of art but...
I zoomed in a bit and....

forget the Face on Mars, with a bit of enhancement to the dark lanes I have finally revealed the source of star formation:
They are Ideas generated from the top of a SPOOKY HEAD!

This should make the cover of the astro mags coming out around Halloween!

anyways, had to post though its not a very good image
cheers

A very interesting object, both the Star and the Nebula are variable.
Burnhams Celestial Handbook has a good sequence of images showing the changes.
Look forward to your improved image, even though I also like this one

It may not have the exposure time you want, but that is a very cool pic.

A fascinating image Frank, I haven't seen that one before.

You've done a great job on that one.

Cheers
