Astronomy trade shows?

maybe i am being a total n00b ...

But are there any shows down under to highlight scopes, and astronomical equipment? you know the kinda thing, like trade shows, we you can go see all the new stuff, and get stuff cheaper?

In the US they have a huge one called NEAF. In Europe they have them too.

But in AU I don't know of any

yeah mate, i know of NEAF .... oh well, it would have been nice.

well its called go to your astrofest or SPSP etc - vendors tend to have specials and stuff there

I bought a nice pair of binos there from York optical. Bintel and others have stands there. I was very lucky to score one of the many door prizes the value of which added up to more than the fee for the camp and the binoculars together. Quite a few Canberra astronomers go to it and take their fat telescopes! Quite a few fat telescopes go in fact, and their owners seem very happy to let people wear out the optics.

duncan youll have to make time to go to star parties they are a great social event and some bargains try not to miss them
