An intimate session with the moon

Hi,

spent a lovely 45 minutes taking 5gb (equates 12 minutes) of movies of the moon. Taken at 1/1500 exposure and not much gain,15fps and at prime focus toucam = aprox 200x magnification

seeing was very good, very little boiling effect.

Having seen autostich in action, i am keen to do a mosaic of the moon. ie extract best pics from the moon video and then stich together.

I am so happy, there was no wind to stuff it up.

There were 7 passes done to cover the whole moon.

I will try and compress these videos so i can share them and you can play to your hearts content.

Tried for ngc6388, but clouds kept coming in!

Mars was too low in the sky!

You must have stayed out a little a later than I did. The moon was very clear tonight, best detail I have seen yet. Tried out my el cheapo ($10) Andrews moon filter, could be a bit darker and I'm wondering why I mine didn't come with a free dob.... With the exception of Rigel Kent I didn't look elsewhere as the moon washed everything out.

Hi Dave..Nice image taking shape there! Please explain the advantages of this over one single (hopefully decent) image.

hi mate,

hopefully i can produce a whole heap of 200X images stuck together, so the resolution will be better than a single shot say at 5X or 10X where to get the image in the field of view lack close up detail!
