Meade Mysky - junk
Warning, don’t buy one! And If you’ve got one, DON’T try to update the software.
I’m embarrassed to say that I bought a Meade MySky plus a few months back.
Please don’t make the same mistake. This piece of junk is badly made, and it used to regularly seize up.
I thought I had a lemon, but type in MySky plus into a browser and you will find lots of people who would like to lynch Meade.
One of the dopiest things about it was that if you update the software according to the manual and using the provided program, it deletes your semi working software and loads the software for the original mysky. This doesn’t work with the “MySky plus” because the software looks for the GPS which is no longer part of the unit. So its only usable as a $300 paperweight now.
Meade site has no info, and I have received silence from my emails to the well known Australian Astro site I bought it from.
If anyone knows where I can get mysky sd card software V3.1 or newer, please let me know. That way I can at least get it semi workable.
