Just a quickie (4 frames for a total of 5 minutes) shot of the Antares region.
I've never turned my camera this way before and I'm amazed at what a series of short exposures can pick up.
Definitely something to come back to and spend more time on.
My goodness Jeanette – that is a beautiful image of this region for such a quickie, well done! I love those dark lanes streaming down the image. What lens/scope did you use?
I used the Canon "nifty 50" with the camera piggy backed on the scope.
No guiding, that was why the exposures were so short.
The image is cropped, to chop out all the coma, and resized to a point where the noise isn't overpowering the image.
Yep... amazing.
but you also have a good skies.
I was amazed myself last month (in Daylesford, VIC - it is burning around the town so I do not dare to go there this weekend) with 5x 3mins.. Crux region. I am still studying details from that image and planning to go deeper in details with 135mm or 200mm..
