Hi all,
always love reflection nebs and this one I
seem not to get a chance to image, but love
it for all the dust, reflection and dark neb.
But there are some excellent images of
it around on the net these days.
Martin Pugh's is one of the best I've seen.

Needed more data to be able to stretch
it further and reveal more finer structure as
well as better saturate the colours.
So my rendition is a little crunchy..
But the weather here is iffy at best and moon
is returning so inbetween New Years celebrations
and commitments, this is it.

Hit the thumb on my front page for a peek...

Hope you all had a great start to the New Year.
Here's to a goody hey!!!

All the best for now.

Cheers for that Marc... thanks for taking a peek!
Would have loved some more data on it just to get it deeper, but really just taking what I can get at the moment.

Good luck with your rendition and Happy new.

All the best for now.

Yes mate, that's lovely. With a little fingernail of a chip you do a whole handfull of work! Everything looks perfect, colour, detail, stars and the slight crunchyness or noise is very acceptable and well worth seeing the detail for

Was considering doing that area on New Years actually but thought naaaah I prefer to image our even more beautiful southern skies.....

Ah Mike, you are a hard core southerner.
Thanks for the top comments!
Will be seeing about a new larger chip in the next couple of months or so.
At this time of year here I'm guided by which way the wind comes in from, sometimes my only option is Est/Nor Est... can be a pain... but we endure.

Thanks bra

Cheers for that Andy,
as we know, this is at times a labour of love, what with fighting gear and weather... but it's the little reward at the computer that makes this all worth while.

Yes gotta love these objects, heaps to see.
Thanks mate.

And thanks to all for your kind comments.
Here is to a great year of images from our lovely night skies.

All the very best
Rich

That is a lovely image Rich!
Beautifully processed!
This gets overlooked to many times by imagers!

Thanks a bunch Gaz,
I agree with you, many folk just simply go for the brightest objects in this constellation. Or want to nail B33.... always good of course.
Still with today's size chips, many of these singled out objects of the past can be had in one hit.
M78's reflection nebulosity always has caught my eye...
Reminds me of some galactic cavern of cool crystal water... surrounded by seething activity.

Thanks again Garry,
All the best for '09
Rich

Hi Alex,
cheers for that.
Hope you can get out and get some data on this, always good to see different perspectives of an object.
