How brave are you feeling?

Hmmmmm,

Must motorize the dob, wedge looks like a cool way to get an eq!

right..... 41.5 degrees latitude, angle of wedge is 48.5.

have just attached the base of the dob to a 44 gallon drum trolley for moving around with some 3/8" threaded rod picked up from bunnings and replaced the the teflon with a 12" lazy susan bearing system. very smooth.

right, lets put the scope in, attach the springs and start lifting up the base until the scope is 48.5 degrees.

will the springs give way? scope pop out of the holder?

well i am happy to say, that the scope got to over 50 degees and all was secure. the lazy susan and threaded rod still worked.

things are looking good for the wedge!

pictures will be posted in the atm projects section
