Smile M-27 project : first part

Hi guys,

September, i began the first part of my M-27 project. The project is to take 2 long exposures in Ha & OIII to create a super luminance combined with the RGB frames.

This year, i finished the first part, a long Ha exposure of about 16hrs.

I will continue the second part of this project the next summer with the OIII exposures and i hope the RGB too.

I use my ASA Astrograph 12" at f/3.62 with my ST-10XME.

You can see the result of this Ha exposure at this link : http://www.poigetdigitalpics.com/M27_Astrograph.html

Of course, i will keep you posted for the next steps.

Last Friday, i received my new second instrument, one Tele Vue NP-101is. First images scheduled when the weather will good here.

Enjoy,

Florent

Florent, off to a great start with the Ha data. Look forward to seeing the final narrowband and RGB renditions. Something that does bug me is that diffraction spikes and blooms just dont mix. While ABG is a trade off sensitivity wise, when you're imaging at F/3.62, I don't see ABG as being an issue. Would improve the image aesthetics IMO.

Thank you guys for your nice comments. The QE of the ST-10XME is a great advantage but i have a project to order one 35mm SBIG camera at the end of 2009 and to keep my ST-10.

I wait now the next summer to give you the next step of this M-27.

Thanks once again.

Warmest Regards,

Florent

Oooh that is excellent.

Mike, I have been watching the ASA yahoo group from time to time and it seems that ASA may be on top of their flexure problem now.

Hi guys,

Thank you for your messages. Sorry for my delay. I used my weekend to install my general and CCD imaging softwares on my new HP desktop computer. Using Windows Vista x64, the task was not easy in most of cases .

Mike : i can understand your frustation. My Astrograph works very fine. It is a pleasure to use it.

Now, it is in its box for several months. I just received my new TeleVue NP-101is APO refractor and i want to use it for my next new image to test it.

I keep you posted...

Thanks once again.

Warmest Regards,

Florent
