Arrow Sunset and Venus (HDR) - First Go at HDR Imaging

Hi all,

I've been doing some research on HDR imaging over the weekend. I've been admiring the many amazing HDR images posted from IIS members and it has sparked my interest in HDR photography.

There was a beautiful sunset on the Saturday evening so I thought I would give HDR imaging a go for the first time. I went down to the local reserve and setup. It all went to plan and I was eager to see the results.

Earlier that day I purchased Photomatix Pro as I found it the best program for processing HDR images. I ran the best sets of images through Photomatix Pro and was blown away. I couldn't believe that they were my images.

To cut a long story short, The last two sets of images I processed had Venus in the frame.

I was extremely pleased with the results for my first go at HDR imaging. It has opened up another area to photography that I had never thought I could achieve with my setup. The image has been highly compressed and resized for the web which is a shame.

Canon 450D and 18-55mm lens on tripod.

Thanks for looking. Any comments welcome.

Hi Matt,

Nice shot and Photomatix Pro is certainly a nice piece of software.
