M8 under dark skies

Here's a pic I took last week in Wiruna during the new moon week-end.
10x10min, QHY8 with Celestron 5" autoguided on G11. Now I have received a baadeer MPCC so I won't get elongated stars on the edges and corners anymore. Will give M8 another go in September. Thanks for looking.

Nice work Marc. So this was taken with a 5" SCT at F10 - very impressive.

Very nice Marc,
Fantastic detail in the centre of the nebula - I reckon you might be able to stretch the data a bit more to bring up the fainter stuff and enhance the colour a bit.
Your elongated edge stars are as bad as the ones I got with the ED80, but like you say your MPCC will fix that.

Very nice work. Some adjustment of the levels might make the background a bit less brown and make the nebula "pop" a bit more.

Otherwise I like it alot!

Thanks Mike. I get a bit of vignetting and my camera picks up a lot in the green so if I stretch too much I start getting a green halo in the middle. Still learning how to do decent flats. Getting there.

Thanks doug. I received my MPCC last Friday and did a whole night with it from my backyard. The improvement on wide field is just amazing. I also got an adapter for my Pentax lenses so I'm going to piggy back and try to do wide-fields like the milky way stuff you did on your website.

I'm really keen to see how you go with the QYH8 and lenses - that's a combo I was considering too...should give amazing results.
