Nice work Beren

As Ving says - you have managed to get the Grus Quartet (as they are more commonly known)

Cheers thanks very much ......Davo the term ISO is " the abbreviation for International Standards Organization = unit of measurement of a films/digital sensitivity to light ".Higher the sensitivity the less light required to make a exposure, allowing higher shutter speeds or smaller apertures ....theres a trade off though the higher the sensitivity the likely hood of pictures being subject to noise, softer contrast/colour and sharpness when compared to pics set at lower ISO settings . I find anything higher then 800iso with my D70 results in poorer pics { } , maybe this might improve if i stacked more images though. Used a IDAS filter with i think 5-10 min , should try and concentrate on one subject to get some stacking done but i get trigger happy with all the targets dissapointed the M31 shot didnt reveal more detail , unfortunately a failing camera battery halted the D70 noise reduction midway .....M31 is my number one object to image
