Mare Orientale 29th May

Good libration this month for viewing Mare Orientale under a high sun, sadly I had to shoot through cloud but I'm quite pleased with the landscape layout that shows the dent the impact made in the Moon.

Mosaic of three images, M250 + SPC900, reduced to 70%

Thats the first amateur image I have seen of it Stephen
I had some good observations of it through the 20cm Celestron SCT
I am looking forward to the next favourable libration.

Hi Stephen

That’s an excellent image of this feature – thanks for the details and heads up. I must try to get my head around the libration calendar, so I can try some of these more challenging regions.

Cheers

Dennis

Nice one, Stephen.

BTW I'm trying to get the lunar librations into the event calendar for just such occasions.
