NGC 4236 and neighbour
Hello friends,
NGC 4236 is a large (17' x 3,5') but faint (15 mag) Galaxy in Draco.
I used the Pentax 75 SDHF, with 350d:
http://www.prokyon.startime.at/Bilder/NGC4236wide.jpg
6x600s, ISO 800, 2 darks
Pay attention to the small Galaxy in the right corner of the image, I didn`t expect it.
cheers

Excellent capture Werner on a very faint object.
There is lots of detail showing.
Very well done.

Nice work, Werner. However you've black clipped the data too much in your processing.
There's potentially more detail to see if you reprocess, taking care of the histogram along the way.

Hi prokyon, a very nice image indeed.
I have to agree with Mike, it's a bit clipped but still a good image. I like the other faint fuzzy that you also captured.
Cheers

Hi Ric,
thanks for your feedback. This image is going to make me crazy. I try to improve it again and again and I am never rearly satisfied.
This is the full image without cutting:

Yep, definitely more outer detail showing through in the second image.
A good effort.
Cheers

I hope I don`t bore you.
Here my last trial, I put the 350d into the refrigerator for makeing more darks. I marked 3 other galaxies:

And just for fun a 100% cut:
