New to the Group

Hi to all Members

I am new to the group. I have gone up market and purchase a Lumenera LU075C (colour) camera from Total Turnkey Solutions in Melbourne. The camera has replaced my Logitech Pro 4000 webcam (which was not really up to the job) and will be used for Solar System Imaging. The camera can also take long exposure images as well, which means it can be used for deep space work.

Since picking it up I have used the camera four time, please follow the link and check out my work.

Very nice Anthony, great pics. Nice to see you signed up, too.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was the LU camera from the place in Melbourne? I've seen them quoted at around US$1000.

From the pics going around on Astromart and CN, it definitely looks like the planetary cam of choice. Is it cooled? How long exposures can it do?

Hi Mike

The total cost of the camera was $1443.20. This does not include Streampix this would be an additional $1300. The camera come with basic software to operate the camera, so it is useable straight from the box. K3CCD may also support the camera as well.

If the camera is purchased from Astromeccanica in Italy Streampix is included but of course you must deal with Customs.
