The race is on..

The race between Mars getting high enough to photograph in pristine seeing conditions!?........or that rotten cloud bank I spy looming on the western horizon!?

No sign of any clouds!! No wind. seeing 8.5/10....Now if those clouds I saw hold off for another 2 hours I'll be laughing all the way to the main computer with a floppy full of hopefully good images!!

Well I couldn't wait the full 2 hours, mars is close to max. elevation anyway. I'm upgrading seeing to a 9/10. Just got 3000 frames as a test run to make sure I have all the settings correct on the toucam. What a perfect night! Hope it holds for Saturn later.

Good seeing here tonight around 6/10 and brief moments of 7/10. Tested the 9.25 tonight. Collimation perfect and avis's being processed. Thank the weather gods.

Funny how things change isn't it!? Seeing suddenly turned to mush & there's a massive lightning storm heading our way.....End of imaging session!
