NGC2467 Nebulae in Narrowband

Hi All

A small nebula near LMC, one of many hanging around the LMC not oft captured and a difficult one to process, dont know why, prolly its not that attractive to start with, needed a lot of work to get it looking tart. Needs a relatively long FL to fill the screen.

A bit noisy given the relatively short exposure time for NB.

Taken on GRAS G15, PME, RCOS 10" OTA, ST8XME. AP0.67
Ha:SII:Ha:OIII 60:30:60:30 min (10min subs) . Ha bin 1, SII and OIII bin 2

Wow, what a lovely image Fred. That bubble near the middle looks fantastic with lots of depth.

Very inspirational for my own first step in this area of imaging.

Thanks Fred, another great image. This is an easy visual object near M93, I can see it in my finder.

Beautiful image, Fred. Lots of detail.

The only thing that detracts is the noise/blotchiness in the darker/purpley areas.

Is the full version upsampled? I can see quite a bit of pixelation after clicking on the image.

Very nice, the subtle colour changes throughout different parts of the nebula are striking.

Give it a go Ric, processing in some ways is easier the RGB, capture is the hard part.

Thanks. OK, ive never seen it thru a scope, must be bright then.

Oh your so right Mike, I pushed it way too hard for such short exposures, wouldve prolly been better backed off a bit, but less neb. Yes its upsampled, due to the misserable 1.6 meg cam res, Im hoping to fix that soon. Im getting a bit tired of the "mid to long FL narrowband with short exposures" experiment, I feel like im going backwards .

Thanks Scott, that whole area is full of colourfull nebulae.

Nice work Fred. Exceptional details. There's something about narrowband that's appealing. Perhaps its the ability to stuff up the colour balance and the image can still look great. Stop upscaling the data and get a bigger chip.

wow there's a whole bunch of images there that are simply stunning..must say if you have posted these I must have missed them..a great body of work

have you ever tried any other colour palette, just out of interest?

Thanks Jase. Its just getting too hard, long FL/narrowfield, short exposures and small res, the images really suffer (and getting worse) . I could handle 2 of those disadvantages, but not all of them. Yep, up for a new cam (6303,16803,ST10), cant decide, the 1st two are soo expensive, and the ST10 is gettin a bit long in the tooth...Thanks for the repeated prods Jase, $punk$ .

Thanks Narayan, I try other palettes from time to time, but nearly always Hubble looks the most attractive. Ive posted most of them, but dont usually bother with "redoos", might test ppls patience.
