My First "Proper" Widefields

Last night was the first clear night I've had since I received my extra counterweight for the C8 which allows me to piggy back the Oly e-510. So here's the first test: a wide field shot of the Crux region.

All are 5 x 1minute frames stacked in deep sky stacker. 14mm lens at f/3.5, 400ASA, ICNR on, unguided.

Images 2 and 4 are full frame but reduced in size and quality for the web. Images 1 and 3 are crops, but are still reduced in size and quality for the web. The first two had a curve adjustment in DSS, the second two had a levels adjustment in PS CS3 after stacking.

Al.

Great wide field shots Al. I can't wait to give this a try with the 400D when my exposure control cable arrives from Shoestring.
