IC 2944 or IC 2948 ?...

An emmission Nebula just below the well known Eta Carinae Nebula as it rises, this is actually a bright target and should show up well in Unmodified DSLRs the coordinates are RA 11h 40m Dec -63d 30m It is also called the Running Chicken Nebula.... (Not here LOL) This section is the lower part as seen as it rises.

Note the trail of stars extending from the Bok Globules in a circular arc around the inside of the Nebula, i cant help but feel these are all closely related to each other.

Shot with 12 inch Newtonian and Cannon DSLR 7 X 6 min Exposures 800 iso plus flats and darks

Great capture. I haven't seen that one before, probably due to Eta.
The Boks are interesting and will go onto the now extensive list.

There are simply not enough hours in the night!!
