Fingers crossed for some fine weather Ron. I'm hanging out for a night under the stars.

I've got the weekend off then Ron, and a newly cleaned primary mirror that is just ACHING for some starlight, so I'm very much looking forward to coming for a visit and seeing you there!

I'm itching to get out there

If these cloudy skies go on too long then I'm going to need some serious therapy.

Will be there weather permitting.

I don't know if I can, but I'm very keen to get out there again, Ron! For a few reasons; the past weather being the main one, but also so that someone can help me with collimation.

Anyway, will all depend on the weather, and whether my father is in town this weekend.

Fingers crossed!!!!

i'll be there weather permitting also, i seriously need some polar alignment help.

a night under the stars would be fantastic therapy for what ails me... whatever that is.

It's highly unlikely this weather is going to clear up in 2 days but on the extremely unlikely chance it will I'll be there Ron.

Happy New year to you by the way.

Any idea who got what really big thing for Christmas that caused this stinking weather? I have had enough, the drought is busted, lets move on.

Dennis.

I know it wasn't me but as you say it looks very unlilely that it will clear up by Saturday.
Happy New Year to you as well.
Lets hope we will have some better observing weather this year
Ron

I can't help but notice that much of the sky here is clear as a bell right now, the howling wind has dropped away to nothing, and the Milky Way is positively shining all the way from Crux in the SE through Carina and so on towards Orion and past until a bright red Mars is visible in the NNW.

Might be seeing you this afternoon after all Ron!!

Sorry Ron but Don and I won't be making it out after all today. We were going to come for the visit anyway but we were moving furniture this morning and we're buggered to be honest.

Anyone know how much bad luck we would have gotten if we'd broken a 16 square foot mirror? Luckily the mirror is intact, along with the 50-odd year old dresser it was attached to!
(When I first saw it my comment was "if only we could put the right curve on this thing...." )

Hope to catch up with you in a week or so Ron if you'll be around, I'll give you a call one day or night in the meantime.

It could clear up as there is plenty of blue sky as well as cloud.
Look forward to your call Steve.

Well it turned out to be a pretty good night up until stumps at 11:00 PM. Thanks for the hospitality Ron, it was great to finally get out from under the clouds and get some imaging done.

Cheers

second chance

The weather is muted to be clear this coming weekend 12/01/08, you are welcome to come up if interested.
The Moon sets at 21:15, but is only a skinny 15% lit
