powerseeker 50

hi and merry christmas all. I wenk into dick smith today just for a look and walked out with a celestron power seeker 50 fo nz. $30 i lust could not help myself. when i got it home the first thing you notice is the tripod is junk so i spent an hour or so adapting the ota onto a small driven eq mount that was doing nothing around here.Threw in a .96 to 1.25 diagonal so i could use diecent eyepieces and did a side by side compareson with my ED 80 (both 600mm f/l) the little 50mm celestron held up pretty well up to 60x mag then there was no contest.Has any one tried these? because at $30 you really cant moan and also at the bottom of the box was a real supprise ......a CDrom of TheSky level 1 a real treat so merry christmas to all.

Yes, there was a heap of discussion about these scopes some time back.
In the end, you could always use it as a guider scope.
