meade 14mm UWA & 8.8MM UWA without the rubber eyecups

Does anybody own these eyepieces? , or at least looked through any ?,(the 14mm & the 8.8mm), .... I'm talking about the ones from the 80's without the rubber eyecups...I am considering a deal getting both of these two relics.
They are in NEAR MINT condition , and I have only looked through the series with the rubber eyecups.
any type of info on how these are would be of great help before I make the purchase. Thanks.

Mark,
Two friends of mine have the newer and older 14mm UWA and we can't see any diffrance between the two.

I have read that people prefer the older ones. I own the rubber eyecup 8.8mm and love it, it is one of the best eyepieces out there.

I would not hesitate to buy them.

Go for it.

Optically both great eyepieces but the 14mm is an absolute monster and can cause balance issues with some scopes, your 12" GS dob "MAY" have balance issues with it. These problems can be solved with a counterweight. The upside of this is that if you get sick of the eyepiece you can always use it as a boat anchor its big and heavy enough.
