M83

Well, it's been a while since I've been able to get out under the stars but almost a year to the day, I've managed to get a couple of nights imaging done on M83.

This is 219 x 180s for a total integration of 10hrs 57mins. I had to heavily crop this as there was a gradient from some streetlights that I just couldn't get rid of.

Cheers

Hi Rene,
that's very nice indeed.
You have good resolution.
I would have boosted the saturation and contrast
a little on the galaxy with a number of blurred layer masks in Photoshop.

cheers
Allan

Great detail and resolution from a 100mm scope. These new small pixelled cameras are really adding a lot of resolution to the final image these days.

An excellent M83 with very good resolution
Well done !!
I assume under Sydney’s skies ?
You mentioned gradients from an annoying street light , but what about the gradients from Skyglow over Sydney
For Galaxy imaging in Sydney B8 , I’m limited to 30 sec subs for luminance and 60 sec for RGB during the new moon with my Newt and 2600MM
What’s your secret pushing 180 sec subs for broadband Galaxy imaging in Sydney ??
Martin
