June 2023 Photo Challenge - Please Post Your Entry HERE

Each month we run the Photo Challenge.
The challenge is set by the previous month's winner.

The topic this month is "A railway bridge"

It could be graffiti or murals or anything painted on a building....

Haven't played before? No worries.
We are always on the lookout for new contestants.
So grab a camera, go exploring, and have a go.

The Fine Print:

* This is the Entries thread. Only for posting your entry, and its back story.
* We prefer the entry to have been taken this month but images taken in the past are also allowed if you haven't had the opportunity to take it this month.
* Comments on other entries are not allowed here, but can be posted in the "Comments and Other Images Thread".
* Additional images may be posted to the "Comments and Other Images Thread".
* Entries are limited to one image per person.
* Of course, the image must be your "own work".
* All other forum rules, and image size limits, apply.

The "winner" will be determined in the voting thread, run at the end of the month
and will get to choose next month's topic and have their photo immortalised in our "Photo Challenge Hall of Fame".

Good Luck! and thanks for playing!

Malmsbury Viaduct

The Malmsbury Viaduct is a large brick and stone masonry arch bridge over the Coliban river at Malmsbury in Victoria Australia. It was erected between 1858 and 1861, and was at the time the largest masonry arch railway bridge built in Victoria. Taken with Canon 550d in June 2023.
Notice the train (had to wait 20 min to get it in the shot).

Macrossan Bridge

Digging into the archives for this one ...
Macrossan Rail Bridge, Burdekin River near Charters Towers in north Queensland, a few years ago.
Free Camping Spot, by the river, with plenty of space and good facilities.

Lapstone viaduct in the lower blue mountains....originally built as a railway bridge for the lapstone zig zag. Closed now, and from the deck looks like a deserted piece of the great western highway. (which it what it also was)
Underneath - some beautiful stonework. Its also difficult to get a sense of scale - its around 170m high.......not bad for an 1867 build date!

Algebuckina Bridge

A somewhat over-engineered bridge about 40km south of Oodnadatta on the Oodnadatta Track.
On the old route of the Ghan.
A few km off the Track itself, but well worth the detour, especially when there is actually water under it.
