Unique Birds

Was bored, so looked through my pics to see if anything looked interesting enough to post here; hope you like it.
The Hoatzin is the only extant example of a bird of this type, and can be found throughout the Amazon Basin. It has several unique and/or near unique
features, and an unattractive range of hoarse sounding calls. It is well worth
googling; a very strange prehistoric looking creature.

That’s cool. Takes me back to my backpacking days going through South America
These birds stink by the way (really bad!) and are terrible eating

Hi Leon and Adam; yes, very stinky, a food of last resort for anybody who is starving. A result of one of the weird features that I mentioned, namely a
very rare type of digestive system which is in the bird's crop, which results in the bird being front heavy, and consequently a poor flyer. It scrambles around awkwardly in the dense foliage.
