One of the last pieces I hope to pass on from this deceased estate I've been selling off. This is an old and rare Nikon lens - a 500mm f/5 mirror lens. I expected to keep this, but as I use Canon and not Nikon gear it doesn't work for me. I bought an adaptor as Nikon lenses are supposed to be able to work on Canon cameras but it doesn't quite come to focus. It gets very close, but when I pointed it at stars it was clear that it wasn't quite close enough.
There's a little information on the web about this lens and it gets reasonably good reviews (not to be confused with the f/8 version). See this:

I've taken a couple of picture with it, and for objects closer than a few hundred metres it's fine for me. I tried it on astro and it's ok, but just not quite in focus. It also comes with an eyepiece which yields 50x and it works well - just like any 100mm telescope at 50x.
Open to offers. Given it's age, the leather case is in excellent condition, as is everything else. Optics look great and it all works as it should.
