Ritchey Chretien Optical Systems 16 inch $30,000.00

I bought this telescope from a USA based company called "Ritchey Chretien Optical Systems" in about 2010 and had it and a Paramount ME shipped to Australia. Since then the company was taken over by Deep Sky Instruments.
Their URL is https://rcopticalsystems.com/telescopes/index.html
If you look it up you can search for Carbon Truss Telescopes 16 inch / 0.41 meter to find out the specifications.
The unit I bought had all of the then available options. These are controlled by a unit attached to the scope called Telescope control Centre II.
I bought the option of an Ion Milled mirror. About 2 years ago I had the mirror professionally cleaned and re surfaced.
Focusing and other functions are controlled by a hand paddle.
I have used the scope seldom in the last 2 years and found it working perfectly as is the Paramount ME.
If you are interested in buying Scope and Mount the asking price is $45,000.
My estimate for a new RCOS unit is $60,000 and a new Paramount $32,000

Given the Ion milling was done for RCOS by a Russian company (with recent sanctions, now unobtainable ) this is a remarkable opportunity for some astute buyer IMHO.

$60k for the optics replacement alone is low ball to say the least.

Gift horse and mouth come to mind....Good luck Barry!
