Like many others here, Her Majesty was the only monarch that I'd known. I feel real sadness at this news, and will miss her stabilising influence. Regardless of your position on the monarchy - and these forums aren't the best place for those discussions - I think the sentiments of former Prime Minister Howard said it best when he commented (to paraphrase) that regardless of what you think about the Royal family, we should take pause to honour this incredible lady.
I for one will mourn her passing.
