Omega Cent

Slim pickings for imaging this year as we all know. Brief window of clear skies opened up a few weeks ago. Best seeing I have had from home to date, HFR of 5 deteriorating to 7.5 by last of the subs. 35 X 120" subs total across RGB filters.
Not much processing on this one, WBPP in Pixinsight and channel combination, background neutralization then a tweek in PS, only took about 5min after the WBPP was done.

Hi Luke,

I hate seeing images go without comment - especially when the underlying data is very good.

Your image is ruined by the large green halo, greenish background and pinkish core (which is a little burned out). This kind of stuff is easily fixed in PS. I've played with it and mostly fixed the issues (I'm bored). I'll post a reduced version here if you want me too.

Cheers,
Marcus

Luke,
Nice image but ….
I agree with Marcus , you’ve captured some good data there with that big Newt but the core is over saturated and colour is not quite right ?
Just some tweaks in the core area and some colour balance and it should turn out a lot better.
Well done on the capture and yes it’s been trying the past year with limited clear sky time

Martin

No problem. Here is my quick fix version (done in PS) - greatly reduced. It was a bit fiddly - took me around 15-20 mins.
I've included your version at the same scale for comparison (on the right).

Looking forward to seeing what you do if you spend more time on it!

PS: I wouldn't consider my version the ants pants by any means - but it illustrates what some extra processing can do.

Thanks Marcus, your version a definite improvement, I will revisit this image, also have some Luminescent data to try to add.
